Hex had been out with his mate Mark. They'd been to the gym to work out and then had gone for dinner. Hex had his favorite falafel place and Mark went along because of the two of them, Hex knew where to find the best food. They were out a bit later than either of them had meant to be and when Mark's mobile went off they looked at one another and laughed.

"The missus?" Hex asked.

"Yeah," Mark replied. "I'd better go. You want a ride home, mate?"

"Nah, that's alright. I've tied you up long enough. Go home, I'll take the tube."

Mark smiled at him and they parted ways. Hex decided to indulge in a little baklava before he started off for the underground stop.

He was passing a bar when a woman rushed out. She looked up and down the street, her mobile pressed to her ear.

"...having a heart attack, i think. The medics are on their way but I don't know what to do. We're at Jazzmin..."

He heard that and though he hadn't been into a bar in quite some time but he didn't hesitate to hurry inside. There was a man on the floor and the bartender was with him doing CPR. Hex rushed forward to help out, letting the woman know he was a nurse and he set about taking over compressions. Soon enough the medics arrived and he stepped back out of the way. By the time it was all over his heart was pounding and adrenaline rushed through his system.

"Come on, hero, I'll set you up with a drink," the bartender said, smiling at him. "On the house."

"Just a Diet Coke, yeah?" he said as he followed her to the bar.
