Max and Hex
[From here]
"We can try," he assured him.
He truly didn't expect anything from Max. Want, yes. Expect, not at all.
He set the music to a night playlist before he offered Max his hand to take him to the bedroom. Everything in the flat was an antique of some sort.
Except his bed.
Hex's bed was top quality. It was the nicest thing he'd probably ever own. And on nights after bad fights, it was the only place he wanted to be.
He stopped at the edge of the bed and rested a hand lightly on Max's waist.
"Would it be alright to kiss you?" he asked.
"We can try," he assured him.

"I'd like that," he said softly, his own hand moving to rest against Hex's chest. His pulse fluttered in anticipation, and he leaned in ever so slightly to meet him.

"We should lay," he said softly, stepping back and starting to undress- Then pausing.
"Please don't let the marks worry you. I promise, I'm fine. ...I'm fine."

And a tattoo he'd gotten when he was very young. It was a common tattoo marking a nomad tribe to the north that had taken the docks. Rumours ran rampant about the shipyards, but none, no matter how awful, seemed untrue.
Between the tattoo and his accent, it painted a clear picture of the life he'd left behind.
no subject
"Nomad," he said quietly. "They tell horror stories about your lot," he noted, tracing the outline of the tattoo as he spoke.
He didn't look worried though. No matter what horrors that tattoo implied, Max clearly didn't count Hex among them.
no subject
And he didn't try to deny them.
Instead, he settled in and made room for Max.
"Lay with me," he invited, beckoning Max to come to him.
no subject
"You've been so good to me since we met," he said quietly. "Like few have."
no subject
"I...like you. I enjoy you, yeah? You're good to be around," he said, aware he wasn't explaining it very well.
And so he stopped making an idiot of himself and simply leaned in to kiss him softly once again.
no subject
Exhaling softly, Max seemed to let go of the misery that seemed to cling to him, at least for a moment. His own embrace wasn't nearly so comforting, he was certain. However, as his arm settled across Hex's middle, he hoped the man found some amount of comfort in it as he kissed him back, slow but sure.

The men he took to bed weren't looking to linger at the taste of his tongue and learn the shape of his teeth.
His hands were slow as they explored the shape of him, careful to avoid the worst of his wounds.
no subject
Max was quiet as they kissed, and when it finally broke he ducked his head and rested it against the other man's shoulder.
He wanted him, he knew he wanted him- And yet his body remained numb. As though it simply refused to engage. Earlier tonight when he'd had a client, he'd had to take a pill, and even then he'd struggled a little. It had cost him a better tip, he was sure. It was often like this after an attack- After a kill.
"I'm sorry," he said quietly.
no subject
He stroked his cheek softly and offered a small smile.
"Doesn't always have to be the goal anyway, yeah? We don't have to do anything else."
no subject
Closing his eyes, Max sighed and settled in to get comfortable.
"Do you think you'll ever leave London?" Max asked.
no subject
"I don't know," he answered softly. "I think about it. A fresh start, yeah? But...I don't know. What about you?"
He kept close, his voice low in the dim room. It seemed to him it was so calm, so peaceful. No rush, no worry.
no subject
"No," Max said. "I'll die in this city."
He said it as though it was fact, fated to happen no matter what.
no subject
"No time soon, I hope," he replied. "We've only just met..."
no subject
Max didn't reply, he just shrugged, smoothing his hand over Hex's stomach- Then inching it lower. Just because he couldn't find pleasure tonight didn't mean Hex shouldn't.
no subject
Hex's breath hitched and his stomach clenched under Max's touch.
"Wha-...Max, you don't have to..." he said, even as desire made his blood burn.
no subject
"I know," Max said quietly. "I want to though."
Taking Hex in hand, he began to stroke him slowly.
no subject
His eyes fell closed and he clung to Max. The motion of his hand stole every thought. All he knew was that no one touched him like this. No one.
"I..." he gasped, but really didn't have anything to say, so he kissed him.
no subject
Max returned the kiss, grip growing a little tighter, pulling him off a bit faster as he gently nipped at Hex's lower lip.
"I bet you're beautiful when you come," Max said softly.
no subject
It took nothing more than Max's words, soft and kind, to bring him to the edge. He choked back a cry and jerked a little as he spilled, then immediately sought a kiss. Immediately pulled him close. Immediately formed to him.
no subject
Max let himself be pulled close, a bit stiff at first, but eventually relaxing into it.

Hex was quiet and still for a long moment, but then finally moved to try to clean up a bit.
"Sorry," he murmured, a bit embarrassed at himself.
no subject
"For what?" Max asked softly. "You were lovely. ...You are lovely, Hex."
no subject
"Feels a bit selfish," he shrugged, then moved in close to hold him again once he was clean.
"You're lovely, too, yeah? I think so," he smiled softly.
no subject
no subject
Hex smiled at him once he'd settled back down.
"You should get some sleep," he said softly. "Real sleep, I mean."
no subject
"I will," Max assured him. "I might be gone before you're up though. I need to go pick some things up from my locker. ... Change of clothes and that sort of thing."
no subject
"You know the code. Come and go as you like," he replied softly.
"If you are here, I'll make you breakfast," Hex promised then.
no subject
Max nodded, but knew he wouldn't be there, and wouldn't be back for a while. When things got comfortable, Max tended to run.
"Goodnight, Hex."
no subject
"G'night, Max," Hex replied, settling into his pillow.
He didn't expect him to be there when he woke, and yet Hex closed his eyes with the hope Max might be.
