It was so silly, he knew, but he loved that he could get chicken any time he liked now. He could get chicken for lunch. He could get chicken delivered.

That was the best.

Max had had a thing and Nyx was busy, too. Hex had jumped on the opportunity to get online and play a bit, only pausing when the door alert went off. He left his headset and answered the door in his shorts, a smile on his face for the driver.

Except the driver wasn't there. Not a trace. Just the food stapled shut in a paper bag.

"That's odd," he said as he gathered it all up to bring it in.

"Oh, it should still be set up from my stream last night," Max said, bringing his plate through. "I bought new sheets, they're silver, looks nice on camera. I meant to show you, but you were out, and then I left so early this morning... It looks good though," he promised.

"Silver? Bang gon, let me see," he said, honestly excited by that.

He left the plate and headed for the bedroom to look at it. Max was right, it looked great.

"What you bought will look so good laid out on that," he smiled at him.

"You think? I'll get changed then," Max decided, smiling. "Want to set up the camera?"

He kind of didn't, honestly. One time, he'd like to have Max to himself...except he knew that wasn't really possible. THe whole point was being on camera.

"Alright," he nodded. "I'll be quick about it."

Max grinned, nodding and wandering off. It didn't even occur to him that he could be with Hex without the camera. Surely the other man wouldn't want that. This was business. ...And friendship. Nothing more. ...Right?

He returned wearing his new clothes, adjusting the pants a bit.

Hex was adjusting the contrast when Max walked in and he looked up and stopped.

Simply froze.

Except his gaze, which raked over him appreciatively.

"You look...good," he said, his mouth a bit dry.

Max blushed.

"Thanks," he said softly. "Don't even know what we should do tonight, do you? I feel like I'm out of good ideas, and all the requests are... Rough. I don't want to get hurt tonight. I don't really want to hurt ever."

"Let's don't take requests, yeah?" he replied, easing in closer to him and taking hold of his hips.

"I don't always have to be rough. I could be nice. It could be nice," he promised, then impulsively kissed him, lingering there softly against his lips.

Max gasped a bit in surprise, but after a moment kissed him in return.

"Nice," he agreed quietly.

"I can have a real gentle touch, yeah?" he whispered, one hand skimming up beneath the top.

His hands could be remarkable cruel. Unkind. Hard. Hex knew just how to make it hurt, and make it look like it hurt.

Kindness like this wasn't as easy to see on camera. The way his fingertips practically ghosted along Max's ribs, reading gooseflesh like braille as he moved slow, hungry kisses to the man's throat.

Max shivered, his own hands coming to rest on Hex's hips, holding on tightly.

"You're always so good to me," he said quietly. "Always have been."

"I always will be," he promised, moving his kiss back to Max's mouth.

It was easy to forget about turning the camera on. Easy to focus on Max alone. It felt a bit naughty, ignoring the screen in favor of tasting every inch of skin he could reach.

Max had sort of forgotten about the camera. It felt so good having Hex's attention that he's sort of forgotten about, well, everything.

Turning his head, he caught the other man's lips with his own again as he pulled them both towards the bed

Hex was happy to follow along, to follow him down, and tasting him all the way.

"Max," he exhaled once they'd landed, his hand firmly holding the curve of the man's ass.

It was only as they hit the mattress that Max recalled what they were supposed to be doing, and his head turned to look at the camera. He should log on, log in, get paid.

This thing here, between them- It wasn't really his, and he knew that. It would never be. Why would Hex ever picked him.

Hex took the opportunity of the offered neck to taste him there. His lips were soft and warm, tongue eager. Given the chance, he enjoyed mapping Max's body as tenderly as he could.

"Tha's nice, yeah?" he murmured against Max's chest.

"We didn't start the stream," he said quietly. "I didn't turn on the stream..."

It was nice though, having Hex to himself for a moment.

"Uh huh," he mumbled, much more interested in shoving Max's shirt up so he could taste his chest and stomach.

"Do- Do you not want to?" Max asked, awkwardly squirming the rest of the way out of the shirt.

"No...yeah, I mean...I..:" he stammered, reaching for the tech to turn it on.

And missing, because he wasn't looking. At all. Hex was too busy kissing Max's stomach.

He did realize after a moment and looked up.

"Sorry," he said, mostly a reflex.

"No- I... It's nice," Max said softly. "I just didn't think... I thought you, um, had a boyfriend."

There, he'd finally said it. He was finally asking.

"I mean, yeah. But he sleeps with who he likes. And he never asked me to...not," he replied.

Hex pulled away enough to look at him.

"I really like him, but be realistic, Max. He's a pop star. I'm a bit of fun. I'm not going to let me best mate go for that. You and me, we'll still be here, when he...I don't know, probably takes his ex back," he admitted quietly, daring to hope Max would want to be.

Like a backup. Max wondered if he could live with knowing he was Hex's second pick.

Was it sad that he thought he could?

"I mean, I'm not going anywhere..." he said finally.

Until Jack figgered out how to get Max hard...then it sounded like everything about the man was much more interesting than Hex's life.

"Me too, yeah?" he said, a soft smile as he looked earnestly into Max's eyes. "You and me. No matter what." "

Max wanted that to mean more than he thought Hex did, but he just smiled and nodded.

"Best friends, yeah?"
