Hex had set himself up in the galley to peel the potatoes for Hannibal, out of the way. He knew how the cook liked it done and was quick and precise.
He took the last root out of the water to remove the skin when Fenris walked in. Hex flashed him a warm smile.
"The water isn't hot enough for tea," he apologized. "You'll have to put it on."

"For someone who claims to care about Nyx I'd have thought you might appreciate someone concerned about his well being," Fenris muttered. "But you needn't worry. I'll leave you both alone."

Something overtook Hex then, flashing in his eyes and flaring through his blood.
"Nyx is mine," he growled possessively.
And then he shook his head and blinked to clear his vision. He hadn't wanted to hurt anyone like he used to in years and years. Not until he'd Bound Nyx. Now, he got the most random urges to hurt something.
"I mean..." he said then, but realized he didn't know what he meant.
