Spencer
They'd set another date and Hex was excited. Maybe more excited than he had any right to be. Spencer was a puzzle, to be sure, but Hex felt he was worth working out. He'd done a bit of reading up on Autism and he found some things fit and some didn't so he was left unsure. He reasoned that was a good indication he should stay in nursing and to leave the diagnoses to the doctors.
Spencer was due any minute and Hex had sprang for pizza and some Cokes. He'd set out plates and such and then settled on the sofa to catch up on the sports scores while he waited for Spencer to come round. If only he could stop checking his watch.

Spencer started to undress- then hesitated.
"Um, do you have something I can wear?" he asked quietly.
no subject
"Of course. Do you want bottoms, or would you like a shirt, too?" he asked, and without waiting for an answer he pulled out another thin, soft pair of too-worn scrubs bottoms and a Liverpool F.C. t-shirt that had been worn a bit too much and now he only ever wore it at home when he watched the matches on telly.

"Thank you," Spencer smiled, taking both and pulling them on.
They were way too big, but they were soft and they were comfortable. They smelled like Hex. They smelled good.
Quietly, Spencer crawled into bed. Settling in, he made himself at home in Hex's bed. He wasn't shy, and he could sleep anywhere as long as there was some light.

Hex left the room briefly to shut off all the lights in the house and make sure the door was locked. He did leave the bathroom light on and then he slipped into bed in the dim room beside Spencer. He pressed close and laid an arm over him to hold him close.
"I'm going to kiss you goodnight," he said, then smiled at Spencer before giving him a proper kiss. He pressed for no more and didn't grab or clutch at him. Just a kiss.

Smiling into the kiss, Spencer pressed closer and settled in.
"Goodnight," he said softly, head on Hex's shoulder as the contact alone chased away bad dreams and the troubles that haunted him.

"Goodnight, love," Hex said softly and settled in, content to feel Spencer against his body and in his arms.
