"You're sad," he said, as if it wasn't obvious. "You're sadder today than yesterday, even. You stink of it."

He grabbed a piece of cold pizza from the fridge, only a single sip into his own drink.

"I don't mean that bad, but if I can tell, the wolf really knows."

He took a bite of pizza, then started to giggle and had to cover his mouth to keep it in.

"You should register me as your emotional support animal," he laughed after he swallowed.
