Hex had finished his meal, bid Alcuin a farewell, and had gone to his quarters to clean up. It had been some time since he'd been with anyone intimately. He'd shared his body, but he had terrible luck with lovers unless they were Betazoid, and those were infrequent this far into the quadrant.

He hoped, though, that hearing about Alcuin's people, and his faith, that he might be able to share something of himself. Something deeper.

The chime sounded inside Alcuin's quarters, announcing Hex's arrival.

Hex finally had to break the kiss to breathe and he smiled. He could feel House's curiosity. The strength of his questions and doubts.

"I want you," he said aloud.

Hex met his eyes and he smoothed his fingertips along House's cheek.

"Trust that's true. Reason isn't important."

Before House could protest, he kissed him again, this time pushing his own desire forward to consume them both.
