Corbin

[just_hex]

Hex had been sneaking texts to Corbin in between patients. The man wasn't answering, probably working, so he sent one more message.

I'll be home after 8. Going to gym. Maybe I'll see you <3

He couldn't get enough of the other man. He wanted to see him all the time. He was always on Hex's mind.

He hit the gym and did his usual circuit, then showered. That was when he checked his phone to see if he'd be alone tonight.

Hex pulled his arm over his head and looked at Corbin for a long moment.

"I like learning about you," he said softly. "I want to know everything about you."

"Same. Sometimes you'll tell me a little detail about you, and it's like uncovering treasure. I've never been good at taking things slow, but I want to with you," Corbin said softly.

[just_hex]

"We have all the time in the world."

Hex settled more comfortably and rested his arm over the other man. He studied his face and smiled.

"I'm not great at going slowly, either."

Corbin settled in so his head was against Hex's chest.

"I like the way you smell. Is that strange to say?"

[just_hex]

"I smell like work," he chuckled. "Or it's in me nose and will never go away. You smell nice. Your cologne. I like it."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"You smell like soap, and clean, and- Yeah, your work. It's strange though, I find I miss it when you leave," Corbin admitted.

[just_hex]

"Next time I'll wear a hoodie and leave it," he promised, kissing him softly. "A proper dirty one that smells good."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"You don't have to do that," Corbin smiled. "Besides, I like having an excuse to invite you over, and over, and over again."

[just_hex]

Hex smiled and kissed him lightly.

"I'd rather be here than anyplace else."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Good," Corbin said, closing his eyes to finally rest.

"I love having you here."

[just_hex]

"I love-"

There was a hitch, a hesitation, one little hiccup as Hex recognized what he was going to say and made a last second correction.

"-Being here. With you."

Corbin held him tighter, snuggling in.

This was nice, the start of something new. He wasn't ready to put a label on it, was afraid of moving too fast, but- Something about being with Hex just felt right.

That's what he was thinking as he started to drift off.

Hex couldn't sleep. Part of him was terrified of the way he felt. Another part of him was terrified Walt would come back. Between them both, Hex simply held Corbin and enjoyed the comfort of being close.

Corbin woke slowly, rolling closer and holding Hex a bit tighter around the middle. He grumbled something that almost sounded like 'good morning', nuzzling at skin and then starting to drift off again.

He very much wasn't a morning person.

As soon as Corbin shifted, though, Hex was awake. And moments later he was slowly drawing away, desperately trying not to disturb him.

"I'll be right back. Just need to..." he mumbled, ducking into the loo.

When Hex slipped off, Corbin rolled to where he'd been, settling into the warm spot left behind.

[just_hex]

It took a minute or two and then Hex came bounding back to bed, wide awake and full of energy. He slipped back into bed, his skin chilled from the air, and he squirmed in close to get warm.

"Good morning," he smiled. "Wake up, sleepy."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"You're cold," Corbin protested with a sleepy laugh. "Don't touch me with those chilly hands, you monster," he teased.

[just_hex]

"But you're so warm," he laughed, pressing both hands against him to warm them faster. "I love that you kept me place for me..."

[prince_of_nymphs]

Corbin protested with a little whine, trying to wiggle away.

"Mean," he scolded lightly, playfully attempting to roll away. "What time is it? It feels too early."

[just_hex]

"I don't know, and me phone is out there," he said. "Early enough we've got time to..."

He descended on him and kissed him lazily.

Corbin laughed brightly into the kiss, wrapping his arms around Hex.

"You're lovely, you know? Just lovely, Hex," he sighed.

[just_hex]

"So are you," he smiled. But the smile faded. "You have to go to work, don't you?"

[prince_of_nymphs]

"I do," Corbin said apologetically, giving Hex another quick kiss. "I'm sorry. I can't just call out either, you know?"

[just_hex]

"Neither can i," he said regretfully.

"Text me, though," he added before stealing another kiss.
