Nyx
The moon would be full in two days and Hex was coming out of his skin. He knew Nyx could take a lot, but Hex had genuine concerns he might fuck him to death. Or pick a fight. He was so agitated that he decided to hit the gym hard and let Nyx get some much needed rest. His plan was to come home with dinner. He was on the treadmill having sick fantasies about a rotisserie chicken and a baguette.
When he felt a bit better, a bit of energy burnt off between a run and a lot of weights, Hex hit the shower and cleaned up to head home to Nyx. He stopped on the way to buy some flowers from a street vendor for Nyx and was admiring them when a woman came close. He heard her, then smelled her, then turned to look into frightened eyes.
Help me she mouthed at him and his senses went on high alert. All that time in the gym was for nothing. He gave her a nod and started scanning behind her. He didn't need to search. A chavvy bloke with stubble and a stupid hat walked up boldly, not even half Hex's size.
"You dumb bitch, get back here," he said, close enough to reach for her. Hex remembered strong arming her behind him and stepping forward...

Nyx's phone rang, the ID flashing Police. Hex sat by the sergeant's desk in cuffs, wrists and ankles, and those connected by a chain so short he needed to lean forward.
"I can try Dess again, Hex," the man offered. "I think it might go to voicemail. Do you have a third try?"
Hex heard the tone ring again, his stomach squirming.
"No, he'll answer," he wished.

Nyx rubbed the back of his hand with his thumb, then tugged him away from the platform, into a corner unseen.
Without many words he opened a portal, pulling them through and into his and Willy's flat.
It closed behind them, and he let go of the other man's hand.
"Should we order some lunch?"
no subject
Hex looked behind him, but they were simply not there anymore.
The shock on his face was almost comical.
"Why do you ever pay for a taxi?" he asked.
no subject
"Because portals aren't precise. It could have opened anywhere in the flat, but it's our flat, I'm not as worried about coming home, you know?" Nyx shrugged.
no subject
"Sure," he nodded.
He was filled with wonder by the simplest magics. A portal was near unbelievable.
Safe at home, Hex was comfortable enough to pull Nyx close.
"Thanks for getting me," he said.
no subject
"I couldn't leave you there."
He supposed he could have, but that seemed unkind.
"I dislike that place though. It makes my wings itch."
no subject
"If we can find a potion, I won't ever go back," he promised.
Then he smiled.
"I could scratch," he offered with a naughty twist to his smile.
no subject
Nyx giggled just a little at that
"I sort of want to ask Willy to go flying with me this week," he admitted. "I think he's pissed with me though. I went to crash with him last night, and he seemed disinterested. He's never like that."
no subject
"I could go home sometimes," he offered. "I think this might be why he tried to warn me off of you."
Such sweetness, until the moment he lifted Nyx up to eye level.
"Too bad I'm more fun," he grinned.
no subject
Nyx laughed as Hex picked him up, holding on tight.
"You are fun, Will has his charms too though. And sharing is important..."
no subject
"Share?" Hex smirked. "I'm game..."
In three days he wouldn't be so agreeable, but with Nyx in his arms and the thrill of the fight in his blood, he was already hard and eager.
no subject
"That's not what I meant," Nyx laughed, certain that will be would not want to share like that.
no subject
"I know," he laughed.
Hex set him down again, but only to take Nyx's face in both hands to kiss him deeply.
"Tell me you want him and you can go," he whispered into the kiss.
no subject
Nyx was so weak when it came to pleasure, but not when it came to Will.
"It's not about want, not even love. It's so much deeper than that with Willy," he tried to explain. "There aren't words for it in your language."
no subject
Hex heard him through the noise of his hunger and he let go. Brows pinched in, he blinked a couple times.
"I didn't realize it was like that," he said quietly.
no subject
"We're bonded," Nyx tried to explain. "It doesn't lessen how I feel about you, I just- I just need you to understand that Will and I have a rare connection. It keeps us orbiting one another."
no subject
Hex thought about that for a moment, and as he did, his touch slowly slid away.
"Should I even be here?" Hex asked. "I don't want to cause trouble, Nyx. I could...not?"
no subject
"You're not causing trouble," Nyx said, and he genuinely believed that. He'd had so many lovers over the years, and none had been an issue.
"Hex, he picked you because he knew I'd like you. To me, you're a lover, a friend, a playmate- To Willy you're... A babysitter, I suppose. You're here to keep me out of trouble in his eyes. Just know that I don't see you like that. ...I like you. I love you."
no subject
Hex smiled at that, slowly at first, but in the end it was bright enough to light the room.
"I love you, too. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me," he replied.
no subject
And he loved that about Hex, he didn't need pages of lore explaining how nymphs were, didn't ask a million questions, he just... He understood somehow.
Nyx smilled, hugging him tight.
no subject
Hex hugged him tightly in return, groaning a bit.
"Oh my god, I love you," he groaned.
He buried his face in Nyx's hair and inhaled.
"I get it, yeah? He's your person. That's what Dess calls Mack. Don't matter who they play around with. End of the story is they're forever. I think you're lucky. It's rare," he told him as he let him go.
no subject
"Right, yes, but-"
But what if you're my person too? he wanted to ask.
"...But I've never felt like this about another lover, Hex," he admitted quietly.
no subject
"Will that be a problem?" Hex asked, real concern in his eyes when he let go his embrace to look at him. "I don't want to be a problem, Nyx."
no subject
"No. ...I mean, I don't know. I don't think so..." Nyx said, genuinely unsure how to navigate this.
no subject
Hex didn't know either, and so he simply shrugged.
"We should figger it out, yeah?" he said. "Talk to him. Maybe?"
no subject
"Maybe. ...Like I said, I'm going to stay with him tonight," Nyx reminded him, though this wasn't a conversation he wanted to have with Will.
