Hex's attitude had brightened over the past weeks to the point that even the people at the hospital had noticed. No one gave him a hard time when he announced he had a boyfriend, but Caro did wink and nod and made him blush.

This week he'd lucked out and had actually gotten the weekend off...every dog had its day...and he'd made plans with Spencer. Hex had cooked, nothing terribly fancy, just some chicked and some oven baked chips, and he'd set up a new documentary in his queue. He really was itching to go out but he and Spencer had never really discussed...well, he doubted very much he'd get Spencer out to the Hoist and he wasn't too keen on going to a bar.

He met Spencer at the door with a smile, the rich scent of dinner filling his flat. The first impulse was to kiss him but Hex was always very careful, very purposeful when he touched Spencer. The last thing he wanted was to startle him.

Spencer kissed him like that, so tenderly, so sweet, and Hex could hardly imagine forcing his will on the man. He only ever wanted Spencer to look at him with trust, never fear.

"Do you want to get a room here? Or would you be more comfortable playing at home?" he asked as he cradled Spencer's face and kissed him in return.

"I don't- I don't mind," Spencer said between kisses. "I just want to be where you are."

"We can't have sex here," he murmured. "That's strictly against the rules. It's for play only. Does that change your mind?" he asked. He didn't and would never assume Spencer was keen on sex. He was well aware that the man could shut it all down, aware of what Spencer really didn't enjoy. In this particular case he thought that maybe Spencer wouldn't find it arousing in the least. In that case they could stay. They could use what the club had to offer which was far more than Hex had available at home.

"What would we do if we weren't having sex?" Spencer asked, looking puzzled.

Hex pointed to the man who had been in a suit who was now in lacy panties and a skirt. He was on his knees before his domme, patiently awaiting instruction.

"We'd play out a scene. We'd talk about it first, then do it, and when it was done I'd hold you, maybe kiss you, until you felt like yourself again. If you gave yourself over to it, that is. Sometimes the first time it all feels...silly. It's difficult to give over control and trust your master...sometimes."

"Master... Is that what you'd want to be?" he asked quietly. "Is that what you like to be called?"

"I like to be called sir," he replied softly. "And that's only if I give you permission to speak."

That wasn't part of his usual preference, but it seemed like it would be a good thing to demand of Spencer- silence- given how he was to ramble on about things.

Spencer opened his mouth to say something- then paused, wondering if they were starting now.

He looked unsure for a moment, then nodded.

"You can tell me yes or no...shall I go request a room?" he said, then smiled. "If you say yes it'll be the last choice you get to make yourself until we're done."

Spencer was quiet for a moment, appearing to think it over, then nodded.

It took a lot of self control to only offer a single word.

"Yes."

Hex gave a nod and gently pushed Spencer up so he could get up himself.

"Stay there." Simple. Direct. He went then to the front desk to arrange a room, leaving Spencer to watch the discipline and pain before him.

It didn't take long and then Hex was back with a door hanger with the number 2 on it. He offered Spencer his hand.

"Now come with me."

Spencer was, actually, used to being bossed around. Hotch did it often, after all. Short shouted commands that the young agent followed- most of the time.

Hex offered his hand, and Spencer took it, rising to his feet and following Hex's lead.

He was itching to ask where they were going and what the other man had in mind- But he held his tongue for the moment, trying to do as he was told.

Hex took him upstairs to a private room. From the next door down there was the brutal sound of wood and skin and muffled sobbing as well as one sharply cried please. Hex didn't let Spencer listen for long, instead leading him into a room made for bondage. There was a St. Andrew's cross, a rack, a wall with rungs on it, as well as a sturdy system built into the ceiling beams for bondage and even suspension. There was plenty of rope, cuffs of both metal and leather, as well as lengths of satin ribbon.

"Take your clothes off," Hex ordered then.

Spencer had seen things like this before, but only in the basements of sadists- the unbalanced and the brutal. He knew that there was more to it all than he saw through his work, but that didn't make it any less intimidating as he stood there, staring it down.

He turned to Hex, his need for reassurance clear as day as he offered a rare moment of eye-contact.

Hex saw the look in Spencer's eyes and he moved in closer, but he didn't smile. He offered no real comfort other than the gentleness of his hands as he undid Spencer's tie. And the top button. Then he gently reached up to touch the man's face.

"You should have a safe word. Something to make me stop immediately," he said. "It's important. Can you think of a word? Something...odd. Something you wouldn't otherwise say."

Spencer wet his lips, swallowing nervously before speaking.

"Concupiscence is an uncommon word- though, um, fitting for the situation, I think," he said softly.

"I've never heard that word before in me life," he chuckled in reply. He meant to play the scene but curiosity got the best of him. "What's it mean, then?"

"It's a formal noun, it means strong arousal or lust," Spencer replied. "From the Latin. Con, meaning with. Cupi, as in cupid - desire, and, then *escere, the *suffix denoting a beginning of a process or state."

"Oh...good word, then," he said with soft approval and admiration. "Alright, then. That'll be it. Now hush and strip."

Spencer nodded a little, nervous and a bit shy as he started to undress.

He didn't take his time to put on a show though, he took his time because his fingers were struggling to do as he asked.

For his part, Hex remained dressed. He stood tall and still as Spencer undressed, then indulged himself in a slow caress.

"Get on your knees, now," he said when Spencer had finally stripped. "You should only ever look up to me."

"But the floor looks really uncomfortable- Also, I have reservations about how clean it is," Spencer said as he looked down and around himself.

"Ah, ah," Hex chided firmly. "Yes, sir or no, sir...and if you defy me then you face consequences. Now, I'm telling you to get on your knees..."

Spencer opened his mouth to reply, then stopped, thinking for a long moment, then nodding.

"Yes. ...Um, yes, sir," he said awkwardly, moving to get down on his knees.

The rush that hit him was powerful. Intoxicating. Hex looked down at Spencer and though this wasn't about arousal he couldn't help the way his body reacted to the sight of Spencer sinking down.

"That's good," he said, reaching down to stroke Spencer's hair. "Very good."
