Hex's attitude had brightened over the past weeks to the point that even the people at the hospital had noticed. No one gave him a hard time when he announced he had a boyfriend, but Caro did wink and nod and made him blush.

This week he'd lucked out and had actually gotten the weekend off...every dog had its day...and he'd made plans with Spencer. Hex had cooked, nothing terribly fancy, just some chicked and some oven baked chips, and he'd set up a new documentary in his queue. He really was itching to go out but he and Spencer had never really discussed...well, he doubted very much he'd get Spencer out to the Hoist and he wasn't too keen on going to a bar.

He met Spencer at the door with a smile, the rich scent of dinner filling his flat. The first impulse was to kiss him but Hex was always very careful, very purposeful when he touched Spencer. The last thing he wanted was to startle him.

"I-I don't really like guns. I'm not a very good shot," he admitted, his mind flashing to Tobias, and the way he'd crumpled...

It made Spencer shudder, and he closed his eyes, trying not to think about it.

Sometimes Spencer was so strong and so sure and then things could turn so quickly and Hex was faced with a man who simply deflated. He reached out immediately and pulled Spencer closer.

"I'm not all that fond of guns, either," he said. No surprise considering his nasty scar.

"No? No, you don't really seem like you would be. ...Though you must know how to shoot, given your military background," he noted.

"Well, yeah. I've done the training and I had to use it in combat a couple times, but for the most part it stayed in the holster while I patched up the sad bastards who had gotten shot themselves," he said, doing his best to sound light...though he didn't do a good job of it.

Spencer reached over, touching Hex's shoulder lightly as he tried to offer some comfort. He knew behind that light tone, there was sadness- How could there not be?

He thought Hex was amazing though- To come back from war so strong and so together.

Hex moved into the touch and turned his head to smile at Spencer. Just looking at the beautiful man beside him made his heart swell and his breath catch.

"I'd have thought you'd be a crack shot, being in law. Is that not the way of things in the FBI, then?"

"Oh, um, profilers aren't required to carry side-arms. ...I did though. Most of the time. I just had a hard time passing my qualifications," Spencer admitted, looking a little sheepish.

Hex chuckled softly at that, nervous himself in the face of Spencer's anxiety.

"Well, you don't even need to worry about it now. Now call to even have a gun here," he said.

"Well, um- Actually..."

He was cut off before he could say anything more, the driver rolling to a stop outside Hex's. Spencer paid the driver, and then followed Hex out of the car.

Hex bounded out of the cab and onc ethe fare was paid he slipped his arm around Spencer to guide him to the door. Once inside, he started in without warning- pressing Spencer's arms to the closed door so he could kiss along the line of his jaw.

Spencer gasped in surprise, but didn't fight it. He found it easy to just surrender to Hex this way- Trusting him as completely as he could.

Hex groaned, low and wanton, and pushed his body against Spencer's. He positively formed himself to the other man and he sought Spencer's lips.

"I love kissing you," he said. "I could lose a week to kissing you and be happy for it..."

"I like- I like kissing you too. I like it a lot. I like your lips, they're an ideal shape, I think- For lips," Spencer babbled softly.

"Yours are so soft," he replied, his voice barely even there. The words were almost nothing other than breath. Hex held Spencer's arms in a sure, solid grip.

Spencer went pink again, ducking his head and looking embarrassed.

"Thanks," he said softly, his hair falling into his face.

"Say...hey," Hex said, his voice gentle and soft. He ducked his own chin in mimic, trying to see Spencer's eyes. "I just keep embarrassing you. Do you want me to be more careful of what I say? Because...none of it's a lie..."

"No! No, it's... It's really nice, Hex. I like it. I just- I'm not used to hearing it, that's all. ...I know I don't express it as well as you do, and I'm sorry for that, but- I think you're very good looking as well," Spencer assured him, smiling softly.

Hex wet his lips and smiled, the curve of his lips just a touch shy even though the light in his eyes was bright.

"You do fine," he said. "Do you really like when I'm a bit dirty? Like...if I was to tell you your mouth looks best with my cock pushed in deep..." he purred. He really couldn't take himself seriously- it was the sort of thing he heard in porn films, but if Spencer truly liked it he'd say it and be sure to keep a straight face doing it.

He paused and thought for a moment.

"You could film me, too, if you wanted. On your phone. Or take some pictures...if you wanted to."

"Oh, I don't want to film you," Spencer replied honestly, not fully understanding why Hex would want to film him, if he was honest.

"I think I need to think about it Hex. That's all," he said softly, looking a touch shy.
