Logan

Christmas had been lovely, though a bit awkward with Aaron there, then he and Spencer leaving together so early. It had left Hex with Assassin's Creed which was just as Logan had said what with the face glitching. He'd had a good laugh and then gone to bed. And Boxing Day he'd gotten up and gone to work like always. But when he'd gotten off he indulged in what he'd been thinking of all day. He got to work and made up a steamed pudding- cranberry orange as promised with a sweet orange sauce and he'd called Logan. Armed with the treat he'd gone to the Ritz and found the penthouse suite.

"Do you even have Boxing Day in America?" he asked when Logan opened the door- instead of hello. "I brought you a steamed pudding and it's still warm since I took a cab. Come on, let's eat."

Hex's smile faltered and fell, but then he licked his lips and forced it back into place.

"Yeah, well...yeah. It wasn't good," he admitted.

Logan watched him a moment longer, then returned his attention to the game.

"That sucks, man," he said finally.

"Mmm," he agreed quietly, then turned his attention to the game as well. For the next long while he said nothing of significance- just giving Logan tips and mocking him companionably. Then Hex broke left and got stuck out in the open and moments later he was dying a most dramatic death.

"Oh, bloody hell. That was me own mistake," he said.

Logan laughed, looking pleased with himself. "Three-sixty no-scope, man."

"Let's start another mission," Hex said, but then he checked his watch. "It's late, though. Do you want to go again? Or are you tired?"

Logan finished his beer, then shrugged. "Kind of tired," he admitted. "Can't tell if it's the jet-lag or the beer though."

He'd had nearly the whole case, and he was a little tipsy as he laughed and got to his feet. "I'm going to brush my teeth. ...I don't know if there are spare sheets to make up the couch, but the bed is huge, man. Bigger than a standard king. You can share if you want."

Hell, Dick and Duncan both had crashed on the same bed as him in the past. To Logan, that sort of thing was totally normal.

"Oh? Oh, all right," he said, thinking nothing of it himself. He'd slept in tight quarters and community tents with plenty of blokes and it had always been innocent.

"Yeah, mate, let's call it a night."

Logan took his time, brushing his teeth and washing his face, then changing into loose fitting pyjama bottoms.

"I don't know if I've got anything you can borrow to sleep in," he admitted. "I wear my stuff loose, but you're kind of, uh, broad compared to me."

"I can sleep in me clothes," Hex assured him, though he had his shoes off and when he sat on the bed he peeled his shirt off. He was nearly flawless, his muscles sculpted and defined, his skin golden. On his chest, near his heart, was a small star shaped scar where he'd taken a bullet. Other than that, he was...perfect.

Logan nodded, his gaze flickering over Hex curiously, then away as he pulled back the covers and climbed into bed.

Hex climbed beneath the covers as well and groaned as he settled into the plush bed.

"Oh, this is nice," he said. "Top notch."

Logan stretched and nodded, rolling onto his side to look at Hex.

"Wouldn't stay here if it wasn't," he grinned.

Hex rolled to face Logan and smiled at him.

"Fair enough, mate," he said. "I'm going to sleep like a baby."

Logan laughed, then flopped onto his back before turning over to turn the lamp off.

"Night Hex. Tomorrow we'll order some breakfast or something."

"Good night, Logan," he replied, then settled in. It didn't take him long to fall asleep and soon enough he was out cold. And yet he was aware of Logan's body as he was when he slept with Spencer and he rolled to him and draped an arm over him for comfort.

The arm around him was unexpected, and Logan opened his eyes as he lay still for a moment and took in what was happening.

There was a cruel streak in him that told him to wake Hex up, and shame the man for getting too intimate- But there was another part- A softer, more honest part, that found comfort in the unexpected embrace.

It was just an arm anyway, it didn't mean anything- And So Logan lay quietly, allowing the embrace, and trying not to think about the fact that it was kind of okay.

Hex was blissfully unaware of what he was doing for long enough that he got some quality rest. Closer to the morning, though, when his sleep wasn't as deep, when he dreams were closer to the surface, then his hold tightened and he pressed his lips and nose against Logan's skin and began to kiss, lazy and slow. He wasn't present, rather Hex was lost in a dream about that actor on that show that had just had the Christmas special...the man was bloody gorgeous and, well, it wasn't as if Hex could control his arousal in his sleep.

Logan had eventually drifted off, but that was enough to wake him.

Instinct took over, and Logan pulled away as he elbowed Hex in the chest. Rumpled and tired looking, he sat up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

"Hey man, I don't know what you're used to- But I'm not that kind of girl. You have to buy me dinner first," he quipped dryly, throwing a pillow at the other man and then slipping out of bed.

"You can have the first shower- You need it more than I do."

Hex was mortified and it showed. He stammered apology after apology and then all but raced to the bathroom to hide his shame. In there he nearly had a panic attack thinking of what a pervert Logan must think he was. He had to because he clearly was neither interested nor flattered.

He got in the shower to scrub up, beating himself up in his head while he did.

Logan, however, was already over it. He was too busy repressing the idea that he might be bisexual to let the situation linger, and by the time Hex emerged he was downing a sports drink and on the phone.

"Yeah, uh, two orders of pancakes... What? Yeah, sure, full English, sounds fine. Just make sure there's lots of bacon. ...You eat bacon, right?" he asked Hex as he hung up the phone.

"Oh, yeah, I eat bacon," Hex grinned, pleased he was apparently invited to breakfast and not tossed out on his arse. "The shower's all yours, mate. I got the mat on the floor a bit wet, though, so you know."

"That's fine- Here, uh, tip the guy with some cash from my wallet," he added, nodding at the bill fold on the table as he got up to go take his shower.

Hex nodded and watched Logan wander off to clean up. He flopped on the sofa and began to flip through the channels. At the knock at the door he got up with the billfold and accepted the food. He was stunned by the amount of money in there- big bolls, small bills, there had to be five hundred at least. He tipped the boy and then went to knock on the bathroom door. When he didn't hear Logan he cracked it a bit.

"Food's here," he called.

"Yeah, great, I'll be out in a few- Just, uh, start eating without me," Logan called back breathlessly, too busy taking care of his morning business beneath the spray of the shower to stop now.

Hex was oblivious and he wasn't looking so he called, "Ok," and closed the door. Then he descended on the bacon, counting it to make sure he left Logan his fair share.
