Christmas had been lovely, though a bit awkward with Aaron there, then he and Spencer leaving together so early. It had left Hex with Assassin's Creed which was just as Logan had said what with the face glitching. He'd had a good laugh and then gone to bed. And Boxing Day he'd gotten up and gone to work like always. But when he'd gotten off he indulged in what he'd been thinking of all day. He got to work and made up a steamed pudding- cranberry orange as promised with a sweet orange sauce and he'd called Logan. Armed with the treat he'd gone to the Ritz and found the penthouse suite.

"Do you even have Boxing Day in America?" he asked when Logan opened the door- instead of hello. "I brought you a steamed pudding and it's still warm since I took a cab. Come on, let's eat."

Hex blushed, looked down at his food, and reached up to rub the back of his neck.

"I'm so sorry for that," he said. "It was just...I was dreaming. And I'm used to sleeping with Spencer. And...I'm sorry. I didn't mean anything by it. You're proper fit but I know you're not...I didn't mean anything by it."

Logan shrugged, putting his meal aside so he could finish of his energy drink. "Whatever, man. It's fine- Just forget it."

Hex nodded, sure it would never again be an issue because he'd either not be invited to stay or he'd be relegated to the sofa. Which were both well within Logan's rights.

"Well, thanks for the bed anyway," he said. "It was proper plush. Best I've slept in an age."

Logan nodded, because it was a damn good bed, but that wasn't what he wanted to talk about right now.

"Can I ask you something? Like- Something kind of personal?"

Personal sounded a bit dangerous, especially now, but Hex nodded anyway. He had blessed few secrets.

"Of course. Yeah," he said. "What do you want to know?"

"The whole gay thing- When did that happen?" Logan asked bluntly. "I mean, were you, like, a toddler chasing other boys, or, like- Did you just wake up one day, really into cock?"

"I was young. I guess maybe...twelve or thirteen. It didn't start with fancying blokes, though. I just wasn't interested in girls, yeah? I liked sports and bands and me mates. And then when I was fourteen, a month shy of my fifteenth birthday, I was at this rec center and I met this boy and he was lovely and we wound up snogging in the loo. And then I found gay porn and it was like finally understanding something about myself. But...well, me nan wouldn't have it. Not in her house. So it was secret for a long time and I didn't do anything with anyone until I was older. Eighteen. And I was scared to death to...to be with anyone," Hex said, a bit embarrassed, though he felt Logan deserved an honest answer.

Logan was quiet, taking it all in, and then nodding a little.

"Right," he said quietly, finishing his drink and then turning on the TV.

"I don't fancy just everyone. I'm not a slut or anything. I've never even had a real boyfriend. I thought Spencer would be but..."

He shrugged then and sat down to watch telly too.

"Wasn't saying you were," Logan shrugged. "I was just curious. I mean- You probably have a type or whatever. I watched a documentary once, about guys like you- Gym rats- who all dated these weird fat guys with beards."

Hex laughed at that and shook his head. "Oh my god, no," he said. "I like...soft. But not fat. I like young and slender blokes. Not necessarily fit but not totally out of shape."

He thought of Spencer then, how beautiful he was. He liked young but Spencer was older than he was. He just looked quite young. And then his mind wandered to Logan and he though the younger man was actually quite attractive, though he knew he shouldn't think such things.

"What, like that skinny guy in that TV show about war photography or whatever?" Logan asked. "I caught a repeat of that the other night. Who even watches that show? It's so depressing. It's just bombs going off, and people with bad haircuts looking sad."

Hex smiled a little at that and nodded.

"Yeah, like that," he said without going into detail. "I think it has more to do with personality, but if you gave me a line up of ten men and told me to pick just by looks, I'd go for someone young and lithe and...pretty."

As he spoke he looked at Logan, studying his eyes and his lips for a moment too long before looking back to the food trolley and picking a small bunch of grapes to nibble on.

Logan didn't think of himself as pretty, but he was aware of his lingering baby fat, and couldn't help but remember something Hex had said the first time they'd met.

"You look young to be in uni. That's something that will serve you well when you're forty, I reckon, youth like that."

"Like me," he said bluntly.

"But you're not gay," Hex pointed out. "If you were maybe I'd pull you...but no one likes to be told no, yeah? You'd just think I was a prick if I made a pass." He was sure of that much. This morning had been enough to make that much perfectly clear.

"I used to worry I was," Logan admitted. "I mean- Not 'cause I thought it was bad, but, just 'cause I knew my dad would beat the shit out of me for it. My best friend- Ex best friend- whatever... Duncan. He used to sleep over sometimes, and I- I dunno. Stuff happened. Not like- not sex or anything like that, but- Little things. Touching or whatever. It made me wonder- but... He wasn't, you know? And I couldn't be... I mean I like girls. ...I love girls, so I know I'm not gay, but- You know, it's normal, right? To think about it. To be into it sometimes, with some people."

No one had ever come out to him before and for a moment Hex didn't know what to do. But then he realized that he had an opportunity to give Logan what he'd never had. His nan had been such a cunt about it and his best mate had turned his back on him. He didn't want Logan to have that experience.

"It's completely normal," he said earnestly and absolutely genuine. "A lot of people are bisexual and there's not a thing wrong with liking both. And your dad's not here so you're safe. You can have a fresh start in London and do whatever you like."

"I'm not bi- I'm... I dunno," Logan said, trailing off and waving the conversation away with his hand. "Whatever, it's too early to talk about this- Let's go do something stupid. Let's see what tourist traps are open and waste the day looking at Paris Hilton's wax double or whatever."

[just_hex]

"The only tourist destination I've ever been to is the Eye," Hex said, breathing a little sigh of relief to have the subject changed. He got up then to find his shoes.

"Have you ridden on the upper deck of a bus yet? We should start with that. We can take a cab later, but you've got to start with a bus."

[logan_echolls]

"Yeah- I don't do public transport, Hex. Ever," Logan snorted as he got up as well.

[just_hex]

"You can't call yourself a Londoner until you've taken the Tube, though," he teased.

[logan_echolls]

"Then I'll just have to call myself something else. Seriously, Hex, I'd rather catheterized," Logan replied.

[just_hex]

"Oh, bloody hell...with that visual in mind I think we'll get a car," he laughed. "Come on. Oh, here's your bill fold. I gave the bloke a five, I hope that was alright."

[logan_echolls]

"Yeah, it's fine, I never know what to tip," he admitted, shrugging a little as he pulled out his phone and arranged a car to pick them up.

"Let's just get dropped off near everything and walk around," he suggested once he hung up.

"Bang on. I can probably show you some things that aren't in the tour books, too," he said, not thinking anything of walking all over the city. There was plenty to see and although he'd never been he knew where the best places were.

It wasn't long before they were in the car, Hex settled in and letting Logan take charge for where he wanted to go first.
