Logan

Christmas had been lovely, though a bit awkward with Aaron there, then he and Spencer leaving together so early. It had left Hex with Assassin's Creed which was just as Logan had said what with the face glitching. He'd had a good laugh and then gone to bed. And Boxing Day he'd gotten up and gone to work like always. But when he'd gotten off he indulged in what he'd been thinking of all day. He got to work and made up a steamed pudding- cranberry orange as promised with a sweet orange sauce and he'd called Logan. Armed with the treat he'd gone to the Ritz and found the penthouse suite.

"Do you even have Boxing Day in America?" he asked when Logan opened the door- instead of hello. "I brought you a steamed pudding and it's still warm since I took a cab. Come on, let's eat."

Logan had eventually drifted off, but that was enough to wake him.

Instinct took over, and Logan pulled away as he elbowed Hex in the chest. Rumpled and tired looking, he sat up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

"Hey man, I don't know what you're used to- But I'm not that kind of girl. You have to buy me dinner first," he quipped dryly, throwing a pillow at the other man and then slipping out of bed.

"You can have the first shower- You need it more than I do."

Hex was mortified and it showed. He stammered apology after apology and then all but raced to the bathroom to hide his shame. In there he nearly had a panic attack thinking of what a pervert Logan must think he was. He had to because he clearly was neither interested nor flattered.

He got in the shower to scrub up, beating himself up in his head while he did.

Logan, however, was already over it. He was too busy repressing the idea that he might be bisexual to let the situation linger, and by the time Hex emerged he was downing a sports drink and on the phone.

"Yeah, uh, two orders of pancakes... What? Yeah, sure, full English, sounds fine. Just make sure there's lots of bacon. ...You eat bacon, right?" he asked Hex as he hung up the phone.

"Oh, yeah, I eat bacon," Hex grinned, pleased he was apparently invited to breakfast and not tossed out on his arse. "The shower's all yours, mate. I got the mat on the floor a bit wet, though, so you know."

"That's fine- Here, uh, tip the guy with some cash from my wallet," he added, nodding at the bill fold on the table as he got up to go take his shower.

Hex nodded and watched Logan wander off to clean up. He flopped on the sofa and began to flip through the channels. At the knock at the door he got up with the billfold and accepted the food. He was stunned by the amount of money in there- big bolls, small bills, there had to be five hundred at least. He tipped the boy and then went to knock on the bathroom door. When he didn't hear Logan he cracked it a bit.

"Food's here," he called.

"Yeah, great, I'll be out in a few- Just, uh, start eating without me," Logan called back breathlessly, too busy taking care of his morning business beneath the spray of the shower to stop now.

Hex was oblivious and he wasn't looking so he called, "Ok," and closed the door. Then he descended on the bacon, counting it to make sure he left Logan his fair share.

Finishing up, Logan cleaned up and then dried off, before grabbing clean clothes and joining Hex in the main room.

"Is it alright?" he asked, grabbing a plate and flopping onto the couch to sit while he dug in.

"It's delicious," he replied, eating bacon and fruit while being tempted by the eggs and tomatoes and beans. And there were pancakes, too. It was a feast.

"I don't usually eat breakfast," Logan admitted as he picked at his meal. "I used to go out early on the weekends, hit the beach- And on school days I was always in bed until the last minute before it was time to go."

"Breakfast is really important. I usually have a hard cooked egg, some granola or fruit, and a protein shake," he replied. "I try to eat a lot of protein and keep the carbs to a minimum. Lots of veg and fruit. As much as I work out I think if I didn't take in so much protein I'd make meself sick."

"That all sounds like way more effort than I'm willing to put in," Logan laughed, shaking his head a bit and eating another strip of bacon.

"If you ever decide you want to try, you can be my guest for two weeks without buying in, just to see if you like it," he said as he gave into the temptation of the beans and toast. He figured if he was in for a penny he was in for a pound and he put the egg on top of the beans and mashed it all up.

"It's not really my thing, man," Logan shrugged, pausng a beat, and then deciding to address the elephant in the room.

"Speaking of not my thing, what was with the wake up call this morning?"

Hex blushed, looked down at his food, and reached up to rub the back of his neck.

"I'm so sorry for that," he said. "It was just...I was dreaming. And I'm used to sleeping with Spencer. And...I'm sorry. I didn't mean anything by it. You're proper fit but I know you're not...I didn't mean anything by it."

Logan shrugged, putting his meal aside so he could finish of his energy drink. "Whatever, man. It's fine- Just forget it."

Hex nodded, sure it would never again be an issue because he'd either not be invited to stay or he'd be relegated to the sofa. Which were both well within Logan's rights.

"Well, thanks for the bed anyway," he said. "It was proper plush. Best I've slept in an age."

Logan nodded, because it was a damn good bed, but that wasn't what he wanted to talk about right now.

"Can I ask you something? Like- Something kind of personal?"

Personal sounded a bit dangerous, especially now, but Hex nodded anyway. He had blessed few secrets.

"Of course. Yeah," he said. "What do you want to know?"

"The whole gay thing- When did that happen?" Logan asked bluntly. "I mean, were you, like, a toddler chasing other boys, or, like- Did you just wake up one day, really into cock?"

"I was young. I guess maybe...twelve or thirteen. It didn't start with fancying blokes, though. I just wasn't interested in girls, yeah? I liked sports and bands and me mates. And then when I was fourteen, a month shy of my fifteenth birthday, I was at this rec center and I met this boy and he was lovely and we wound up snogging in the loo. And then I found gay porn and it was like finally understanding something about myself. But...well, me nan wouldn't have it. Not in her house. So it was secret for a long time and I didn't do anything with anyone until I was older. Eighteen. And I was scared to death to...to be with anyone," Hex said, a bit embarrassed, though he felt Logan deserved an honest answer.

Logan was quiet, taking it all in, and then nodding a little.

"Right," he said quietly, finishing his drink and then turning on the TV.

"I don't fancy just everyone. I'm not a slut or anything. I've never even had a real boyfriend. I thought Spencer would be but..."

He shrugged then and sat down to watch telly too.

"Wasn't saying you were," Logan shrugged. "I was just curious. I mean- You probably have a type or whatever. I watched a documentary once, about guys like you- Gym rats- who all dated these weird fat guys with beards."
