Hex's attitude had brightened over the past weeks to the point that even the people at the hospital had noticed. No one gave him a hard time when he announced he had a boyfriend, but Caro did wink and nod and made him blush.

This week he'd lucked out and had actually gotten the weekend off...every dog had its day...and he'd made plans with Spencer. Hex had cooked, nothing terribly fancy, just some chicked and some oven baked chips, and he'd set up a new documentary in his queue. He really was itching to go out but he and Spencer had never really discussed...well, he doubted very much he'd get Spencer out to the Hoist and he wasn't too keen on going to a bar.

He met Spencer at the door with a smile, the rich scent of dinner filling his flat. The first impulse was to kiss him but Hex was always very careful, very purposeful when he touched Spencer. The last thing he wanted was to startle him.

"We're going to watch people?" Spencer asked, whispering and looking surprised.

"To start," he said softly. "I think you should see what's common so you can make a decision, yeah? Some of it's pain but a lot is control. You should know what it looks like when people are all willing to play like this."

Spencer looked a little uneasy, but nodded a bit and followed along.

"I don't think I want to be in pain. I'm not good with pain," Spencer admitted as he held onto the back of Hex's shirt.

"Then we're a match there because I'm not keen on hurting anyone. But you'll see that. Some people like it," he said as he opened a set of sliding doors and closed them behind them.

In the room that welcomed them there were several couples and a few threesomes. People who were dominant. People clearly submissive- from a girl with her head bowed to a man on a leash. Spencer stayed close, though his eyes roamed, studying everything and everyone.

"Do you come here a lot?" he asked quietly as they made their way over to a sitting area.

"Nah, maybe a handful of times. I really prefer the gay clubs, but all of those are strict about dress code and such. I thought this one would be the best to come to first to see if it even interests you," he explained. As he spoke, a man in a designer suit was lead away by a domme in a suit of her own. His head was bowed for her and his hands folded behind his back.

"See that?" he said. "They'll be back when he's out of his suit. He'll be in something humiliating. Maybe ladies panties. That's the sort of domination she specializes in."

"Is that something you like?" Spencer asked, still trying to get a better idea of what aroused Hex. "What sort of things would you like to do- given the opportunity to do them with me?"

"With you?" he asked, then smiled softly. Hex took Spencer's hand and lead him to a love seat against the far wall. "I'd like to have you in a jock, I think. I'd enjoy tying you up. You're a bit unusual...I'd have to get creative. I'd never have to hurt you because I think just touching you too much might be too much for you. Might be fun to see how obedient you could be. I think you might be rather defiant, yeah? Maybe not meaning to...but I can see it in you."

None of it had to do with sex or desire. For Hex the sex came secondary to the rush he felt with the power and control. It was nice, getting off, but he didn't go into a scene even expecting to come.

"I don't- I don't know if I'd like being tied up," Spencer admitted, though he didn't shy away from Hex or look uneasy. He trusted Hex, that much was clear in the way he sat close to the other man and the way he held Hex's hand.

"The only times I've ever been tied up- it wasn't... It wasn't nice."

"I'd like to try. Maybe I could make it something...something better. But it's not necessary, Spencer. The last thing I want is for you to feel pressured into anything. I'll not have you uncomfortable about anything we do. If you don't like it then I don't want to do it, yeah?" Hex replied, giving Spencer's hand a bit of a squeeze.

Spencer relaxed a little, then nodded.

"I'm willing to try," he replied.

"We've got plenty of time to try all sorts of things. And I'm game to try anything you think you might like. I'm keen to learn, too," he smiled.

Spencer seemed to relax, and he nodded as he smiled.

"Thanks," he said softly.

Hex smiled back at him and then returned his attention to the people playing in the room. He explained from time to time what they were doing but mostly let Spencer watch, just to take it in.

Spencer's gaze was sharp, taking everything in as he leaned into Hex and took comfort in how close they were.

He wasn't sure any of this aroused him, but he wanted to try. He wanted to give this to hex.

Hex, for his part, was aroused...but it had little to do with the scenes playing out. He was quite turned on by how close Spencer was and how easily he sat close. Hex put his arm around the man and nuzzled his nose in against Spencer's hair.

"Do you like to watch?" he asked softly.

"Sure, watching is alright," Spencer said as he leaned in a little closer.

He was enjoying the touching more though. The touching was nice.

"I don't mind watching. But for this sort of thing I'd rather do it than watch it," he said softly, turning just a little to welcome Spencer even closer. He breathed in the scent of him and closed his eyes as his lips pressed against Spencer's hair.

"I do have some films, though. Ones I like. I'd watch them with you if you wanted to see what I really enjoy," he said softly, so just Spencer could hear.

Spencer blushed, but nodded.

"Maybe we could watch them together one day," he agreed.

"I want to do everything together with you, Spencer. I think that all the time- something will happen and I'll think I need to tell you. Or show you. Do something with you," he said. Hex smiled then. "You're me mate, yeah? We ought to be doing things together. Everything. Well, maybe not everything..." he babbled, his tongue running away from him a little.

Spencer smiled at that, leaning in and kissing Hex gently.

"We're friends. Good friends. I want to do all the things you want to do."

Spencer kissed him like that, so tenderly, so sweet, and Hex could hardly imagine forcing his will on the man. He only ever wanted Spencer to look at him with trust, never fear.

"Do you want to get a room here? Or would you be more comfortable playing at home?" he asked as he cradled Spencer's face and kissed him in return.

"I don't- I don't mind," Spencer said between kisses. "I just want to be where you are."

"We can't have sex here," he murmured. "That's strictly against the rules. It's for play only. Does that change your mind?" he asked. He didn't and would never assume Spencer was keen on sex. He was well aware that the man could shut it all down, aware of what Spencer really didn't enjoy. In this particular case he thought that maybe Spencer wouldn't find it arousing in the least. In that case they could stay. They could use what the club had to offer which was far more than Hex had available at home.
