Hex had been sneaking texts to Corbin in between patients. The man wasn't answering, probably working, so he sent one more message.

I'll be home after 8. Going to gym. Maybe I'll see you <3

He couldn't get enough of the other man. He wanted to see him all the time. He was always on Hex's mind.

He hit the gym and did his usual circuit, then showered. That was when he checked his phone to see if he'd be alone tonight.

Hex kept his touch soft.

"Alright," he smiled. "All yours, then."

He pulled him in and kissed him. It was a whisper of a kiss, letting Corbin decide how much energy he really had.

Corbin returned the kiss with a soft sigh, arms draping around hex's shoulders as he kept him near.

"It's awful lonely here lately when you're not about. Never used to be. I used to like being alone."

"You're on me mind all the time," he replied, brushing his lips against Corbin's skin.

"I can hardly wait for me phone to chime because I know it's you..."

"I'd feel the same if mine wasn't nearly always on silent," Corbin chuckled.

Hex gave him a lazy, slow kiss before pulling back with a smile.

"I swear it's cosmic," he said. "It has to be."

"You're full of sweet talk," Corbin grinned, settling in against Hex's side and slipping an arm around him.

"It's true, yeah?" Hex said, gathering him close.

"Close your eyes. Whether you sleep or not, rest your eyes.

Corbin settled against him, resting his head on Hex's shoulder.

"Tell me how you've been," he said softly.

[just_hex]

"I was just at the gym. That was good. Core and cardio today. Work was good..." he said, then slowly, softly droned on about gossip, mostly. A couple more interesting patients, and two birds fighting it out in the lobby.

He finally paused to see if Cornin had drifted off.

Corbin was still listening though, and he glanced up with a smile.

"Busy day, huh?"

"That was supposed to bore you to sleep, love," Hex smiled, his voice warm and low. "It was just a day, same as most."

Corbin pressed a kiss to Hex's shoulder.

"I like hearing you talk though."

[just_hex]

"I can go on," he offered. "I'll tell you story if you like...do you want to hear about me dog?"

[prince_of_nymphs]

"You have a dog? I didn't know you had pets," Corbin smiled.

[just_hex]

"I don't now, but when we were deployed we had this dog. She was a local stray that came into camp looking for a meal and we kind of kept her. And she became me dog after I helped her deliver puppies," he said. "She was a good dog."

"That's sweet. ...You miss her?" Corbin asked.

[just_hex]

"Sure. She was a sweet dog. But I don't have time for one here," he said. He'd often thought o getting one, but he worked so much...

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Yeah, I guess it would be hard with the hours you work," Corbin said, sounding sympathetic.

[just_hex]

"I...did have an idea..." he said hesitantly.

"What if I convinced Bond to get a therapy dog? And I keep her?"

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Do you think you could do that? ...Who's Bond, your boss?" Corbin asked. "Wouldn't it need a lot of training?"

[just_hex]

"Oh, yeah, Dr. Bond is head of emergency. I haven't asked because...well, I don't think he'd be keen," he said. "So I haven't put a tonne of thought into it. Just a nice daydream sometimes. Do you daydream?"

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Sure, everyone does, you just sounded serious about it is all, so I was just asking," Corbin assured him.

[just_hex]

"I'm always serious...I just realize me lifestyle isn't fair to any dog. Because I'm only home to sleep or clean up and change, yeah? What about you? You ever think of getting a dog? Or cat? Cat might be easier. Little more independent, yeah?" Hex replied.

It was odd, he thought, how comfortable and right it felt to simply chat in bed. No one ever wanted him in bed to chat.

"Honestly, I'm too self involved for a pet," the actor replied. "It would be selfish, I think."

"Good. Then I get all your spare attention," he smiled, squeezing Corbin tight to him.
